We firmly believe that the CAGED system is the key to unlocking the fretboard. The minor CAGED is often overlooked but not in this course. We cover everything you need to be able to play any minor chord, scale or arpeggio in any key and truly understand it!

  • The E CAGED Shape
We kick off with our E shape CAGED chord. This feels like the best place to start as it’s built from the root note on the E string, and is the most common chord of the CAGED chord system. As with all our chords, we’ll start by learning it all in A minor before changing keys later down the line. Let’s get started!

  • The D CAGED Shape
Next up is the D Shape CAGED chord. This is a very useful chord shape, both for songwriting and improvisation. As with all of our chords, we’ll start by learning it all in A minor, before changing keys later down the line.

  • The C CAGED Shape
This unit covers the C Shape CAGED chord. This is a very useful chord shape, both for songwriting and improvisation. As with all our chords, we’ll start by learning it all in A minor, before changing keys later down the line.!

  • The A CAGED Shape
This unit covers the A shape CAGED chord. This is the second shape that people tend to know very well, but we will be expanding it and learning it more deeply. As with all our chords, we’ll start by learning it all in A minor, before changing keys later

  • The G CAGED Shape
Here we have the G shape CAGED chord. This is one of the least used shapes, but get it under your belt and you will love it! As with all our chords, we’ll start by learning it all in A minor, before changing keys later down the line.

  • All Shapes
It is now time to tackle all the shapes at the same time! This simply means that we will be choosing one part of the fretboard and working in that same position to bring in all the minor CAGED shapes.

  • Major & Minor
Now we will get to the ultimate application of everything we have learnt in this course and our previous major chord course.
