Our 10 week courses are designed to ensure your best possible progress. They are divided into 4 levels – Foundation, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. The success of the lessons speaks for itself, with 100s of students achieving what they never thought they could! Many of our students are still with us, and have been for more than 2 years, others feel as though they never need any more than the first 10 weeks!

Foundation lessons

The ideal entry point for kids who want to take up the guitar! Each lesson is tailored for young players covering all the skills they need to progress with their instrument whilst keeping it exciting and motivating. All the course notes are written clearly and are easy to understand. By the end of the first 10 weeks all our younger students that have taken this course of lessons are able to strum through a range of modern and classic songs, read TAB style sheet music, understand chord charts, understand basic music theory and have a better understanding of timing and rhythm!

Beginner lessons

For a lot of beginners to the guitar it can be extremely hard to know where to start, and how to know if you are learning correctly! Our beginners courses take all the guess work away and ensure that you are only learning what you need to know to make serious progress! You learn in a relaxed, fun and supportive environment that helps guarantee your best possible progress. Our beginners lessons are designed to get the most out of your playing in a short amount of time. In only 10 weeks you will be able to strum along to modern and classic songs, with a range to suit every taste of music. You will be able to read and play TAB sheet music, you will have a better understanding of the guitar and even be able to compose your own songs if you wish! You will be amazed the progress you will make in just 10 weeks, and you will enjoy the ride too!

Intermediate lessons

The intermediate lessons are structured around 5 modules to ensure your best progress. GUITAR GYM includes technical Exercises to increase your speed and accuracy whilst the CHORDS module unlock the whole neck! Our chord module leaves no stone unturned, you will literally be able to play every chord there is! The SCALES module shows you how to improvise and create your own solos! Learn from the best and discover the ‘nuts & bolts’ of classic solos, how they were written and what shapes they used! The THEORY module covers all the material you need to have a true understanding of how music works. Essential! Finally the SONGS module means you learn to play and perform classic songs, discover how classic artists create their sound, and learn how to create your own!

Advanced Lessons

Want something a bit more flexible? No problem! All of the tutors at Your Guitar Academy are extremely experienced and can happily put together a custom course designed for you. If you are an advanced player and want to further your skills then we also have specialist tutors who can help you in certain areas. We have tutors that specialise in jazz, rock, blues, acoustic, funk, pop and pretty much any other style you can think of! All you need to do is let us know what you are looking to master and we will make sure you get paired up with the guy who can get you there!

Skype Lessons

All of these lessons are also available via Skype! All of our tutors are set up ready to go with HD web cams and super fast broadband connections that mean a flawless Skype lesson experience. So if you’ve found a tutor you like the look of but they are out of your area, simply arrange a Skype lesson with them.
