2022 was a huge year for us. We launched our YGA Club to the masses, changed our freemium model to a fantastic reception, worked with many exciting, dedicated and wonderful new guitar tutors, and further established ourselves as the best online guitar learning platform.
Now then, you hear from me a lot these days! Blog posts, YouTube vids, courses, emails… You name it; I'm talking a lot! However, you don't hear as much from our core team in the office, and these guys are doing most of the hard work! My amazing team of Ollie, Cam and Jonty are as much a part of our progress as anyone else, so I wanted to give them a chance to review their year and tell us a bit about their plans for the coming year.
Merry Christmas to all! Ollie here. What a year! Sitting here now, it's amazing to think about all the new ideas, courses and projects we've worked on and the challenges we've overcome! It has been wonderful to see the YGA Club grow over this year, and as the number of club members has grown, so has the Discord community, which has become a really amazing part of the club. I want to say a big thank you to all of our students and mentors on the server - you guys are really making the Club the best place to learn guitar online!
I also wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our 1:1 tutors - it's been great working with you this year, and we're always getting lots of great feedback from students. And, of course, it's been great working with our small team of Dan, Jonty Cam and myself, and we are very excited to be working more closely with Andy, our Technical Director, to bring even more great features to the Club and the Student Area for private lessons!
Next year we have some fantastic new courses planned, and I can't wait to get stuck into the transcriptions of the songs! We've also got a great group of new tutors who have recently sailed through their interviews, and Jonty and I are really looking forward to working with them! I was asked to write a couple of paragraphs for this blog, I've been doing my best to keep this short, but there's so much to say I've already gone way over! I'll stop here and say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and we'll see you in January for more shred!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all in the YGA family! 2022 has been a great year for guitar, with lots of my favourite artists releasing new albums, if I could recommend any, it would be BILO IV by David Maxim Micic! As well as tonnes of cool guitar gear being released if you're a fan of that stuff! Not least, it has been a great year for learning, with the YGA club just reaching its one-year anniversary and our Youtube channel hitting 100k Subscribers, and it's all thanks to you!
I'm really excited to see what 2023 has in store, as well as bring you all lots of new courses, with one just around the corner that you're all sure to love!
Although I’ve been with YGA for almost two years now, this year has been my first full year working with the team! It’s been a fantastic year where I’ve met so many of our tutors who teach all around the UK, all bringing different styles of playing with them.
I spent 7 months of 2021 putting together the YGA club alongside Dan, Ollie and Cam. Releasing it to the world this year has been incredible, as seeing how many students have joined the YGA Club and come so far already as guitarists have been a really fun journey, and I can’t wait to see how the club develops next year! I’ve also been interacting with many people reading this, like yourself, both through Instagram and the quick-lick emails I send out most days, which has also been super fun. I can’t wait to share more with you as we enter 2023!
I'll keep it short and sweet for my review, as you all know what I think! 2022 has not been without its challenges, but overall we have made some big strides forward, and with Andy (our technical director) now back in the frame more regularly, I'm, very excited about what we can do in 2023! I want to say a massive thank you to each and every student, whether you are a club member, a student with our tutors, downloading our courses, part of our mailing list or one of our social subscribers… It is all about serving you guys, and that purpose keeps us focused and improving.
Have a wonderful Christmas, and an awesome New Year!!
