The Chords

We start by taking a look at the chord shapes we are using in this track. The same 4 chords loop all the way through the part. We have also shown how to play these same chords with a capo, if you would rather just focus on the slap technique and not worry about new chord shapes!

The Slap

When it comes to the slap technique, the main principle is to replicate the drum snare. This means that you need to 'slap' the guitar on the 2nd and 4th beat of each bar. To slap, you simply throw your hand against the strings, as shown in the video. It'll take some time to get this correct, so use the video to break down the idea and gradually bring up the speed.
