It's time to put your new skills to the test by learning your first song. This is a really cool bluesy pop track that will push you to the limit of your current skills, and get you ready for the next steps! PS. We have a slightly different format below. Use the tabs to work through the three parts of this lesson!
This song will push your skills to the limit! It consists of a cool riff, 4th note and 8th note values combined, as well as a chorus that will work your right hand into a sweat! Your first task is simply to listen to the whole track. Once you've done that, flick through to the next tab.
The verse part is the riff that occurs eight times round before the track changes. The first two bars are very clear. You only hear the riff. From then on, you will hear the other instruments playing various parts on top of this. Your job is to keep that riff solid as you play along to the track. Use the interactive tab below to loop the verse riff, slow it down, and get it mastered! Good luck.
The chorus part is a consistent 8th note groove that uses root notes to create a driving sound. You need to really work on keeping your right hand seven and use the tips in the video to make sure you are using the correct technique. Use the interactive tab below to loop the verse riff, slow it down, and get it mastered! Good luck.
