This upbeat Bruno Mars classic is such a fun track to play along to. It's a perfect song to learn for early intermediate players as it really requires quick barre chord changes and a good understanding of rhythm to get through it. Simone will walk you through every section.
During the verse we are using 5 chords, all of which are barre chords as shown below. These chords change very quickly, so it is important to just try changing these chords very slowly first.
For the rhythm it is very important to keep your right hand moving in 8th notes ("1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and") so that you naturally hit the upstrokes in the right places. Here is the pattern. Simone then goes into the finer details and the few changes you will find in the pattern int he video.
When we get to the chorus, we have a new set of chords.
