If you are learning funk or soul music, then you simply have to take a look at the King, and originator of this style. James Brown blended the blues and soul music of the day, with a repetitive and infectious groove, creating what we would call 'funk music'. From a guitar point of view, the players in the band were numerous, but they were always trained and perfected by James Brown's attention to detail. We have a lot to learn!
