In our very first 'Songs For Your Kids' lesson, we will be taking you through the anthemic, Baby Shark! If you have kids there is a high probability that you spend half your time with them listening to this song, so why not wow them by learning how to play and sing it!
For the majority of the song (excluding the key change), you are playing 4 open chord shapes which we've shown below. Please feel free to use other positions if you prefer, or even just the basic versions of the chords (C instead of Cadd9 and Em instead of Em7) if you like. It'll still sound pretty perfect!
We've put together a basic but accurate strumming pattern for you to use through the entire song. Once again, if you feel as though another pattern fits comfortably and you enjoy playing it, please do so. This isn't an absolute must to get the song sounding correct.
If you want to play along with the Pinkfong version of the track, there is a keychange. Everything steps up one semitone, so you'll either need to pop a capo on the 1st fret (very quickly!), or use barre chords. Here is an example of how you would play those chords.
All done?
Congratulations
You've now completed Song Jukebox: Songs For Your Kids and taken a huge step forwards in your guitar playing journey.
Feel free to bask in glory for a while, or go ahead and try another course if you're hungry for more.
