Free guitar lesson

Back to course index

Summary: Electricity

In this guitar lesson, Simone will show you how to convert that piano/synth part into a really cool guitar part. The chords work just as well on the guitar and it is a great challenge for intermediate guitarists who want to speed up their chord changes.

All The Chords: Barre chord fun!

For the main piano loop on the track we are using the following barre chords. You can play these using open chords, but lets start with this!

The Rhythm: Fingerpicking

This is a great excuse to practice a little bit of fingerpicking. You are simply using your first, second and third fingers with your right hand at the same time, rather than strum with a plectrum. You also play the chords in a staccato fashion, which means short and sweet! As for the rhythm pattern, there are two main patterns, both of which shown here:

    Keep Learning: Barre Chords

If you really like this track but struggle to fret the chords, then you will want to tackle our barre chord course! It's a ful course, and totally free (As is everything on the site). You can find it here: How To Play Barre Chords.

All done?
